Respiratory System Treatment with Thread Embedding

Vietnam Rehabilitation Institute treats respiratory conditions using Thread Embedding, ranging from chronic diseases such as COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) to acute conditions like pneumonia, bronchitis, and allergies.

Thread Embedding is an advanced Acupuncture technique where self-absorbing threads are inserted into acupuncture points, providing continuous healing simulation until they dissolve. Thread embedding simulates acupuncture points on the meridian system to correct imbalances in the body's internal organs. Depending on the specific illness, we will select appropriate acupuncture points.

What are Respiratory Diseases?

Respiratory diseases affect the respiratory system, which includes the nose, throat, bronchi, and lungs. Respiratory diseases can range from mild, such as a cold, to serious, such as lung cancer. According to the WHO (World Health Organization), COPD is the third leading cause of death globally, demonstrating the severity and prevalence of respiratory diseases.

Common Respiratory Diseases That Can Be Treated with Thread Embedding:

  • Asthma: The bronchial tubes of the patient are continuously inflamed and may become constricted, causing wheezing and difficulty in breathing.

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): The air sacs in the lungs become thickened, severely obstructing normal breathing.

  • Chronic Bronchitis: This form of COPD causes a persistent cough with mucus production.

  • Emphysema: Smoking is a common cause of this disease. In this form of COPD, lung damage traps air in the lungs, making it difficult to breathe out. The fragile connections between the air sacs are destroyed. Besides treating respiratory diseases in general, Thread Embedding can also assist in smoking cessation. Thread Embedding in the ear affects the autonomic nervous system and central nervous system, helping to reduce nicotine cravings and induce a relaxation response, easing the discomfort caused by quitting smoking.

  • Acute Bronchitis: This is a sudden infection of the airways, usually caused by viruses or bacteria.

  • Cystic Fibrosis: This condition makes it difficult to clear mucus from the bronchial tubes, leading to recurrent lung infections.

  • Pneumonia: An infection of the air sacs in the lungs, often caused by bacteria or viruses, including the virus that causes COVID-19.

  • Pulmonary Edema: Fluid leaks from small blood vessels in the lungs into the air sacs and surrounding areas. Pulmonary edema can be caused by heart failure or lung injury. This condition is often seen in patients with chronic cardiopulmonary diseases (Heart failure - Lung failure).

  • Other Respiratory Conditions: (e.g., frequent colds, pharyngitis, laryngitis, pulmonary fibrosis, whooping cough, lung cancer, bronchiolitis, lung abscess, nasal and sinus allergies (rhinoconjunctivitis), tuberculosis, etc.)

Please contact us if your condition is not listed above.

Causes of Respiratory Diseases

Common causes of respiratory diseases include:

  • Environmental Pollution: Smoke, dust, and industrial chemicals can irritate and damage the respiratory tract.

  • Infections: Viruses and bacteria cause diseases such as bronchitis and pneumonia.

  • Smoking: Leads to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer.

  • Genetic Factors: Conditions like cystic fibrosis and asthma can have genetic predispositions.

  • Constitutional and Lifestyle Factors: A weakened immune system and an unbalanced diet increase the risk of respiratory diseases.

  • Work Conditions: Exposure to chemicals and dust in the workplace can lead to respiratory illnesses.

Our values are holistic healthcare and addressing the root cause of health problems rather than only treating symptoms. Thus, in addition to treating the patient's Respiratory disease, we simultaneously address other diseases/symptoms that the patient is experiencing (if any).

Respiratory Disease Treatment with Thread Embedding

Thread embedding is an advanced acupuncture method used to treat respiratory diseases by stimulating specific acupointsacupuncture points on the body.

The mechanism of acupuncture and thread embedding involves addressing the body's imbalances to restore the function of weakened organs. Embedding threads into acupuncture points stimulates and regulates the meridian system, helping to balance and stabilize the functions of internal organs, thus treating the root causes of diseases. Important acupuncture points in the treatment of respiratory diseases with thread embedding include:

  • Kidney 27 (Shufu): Located on both sides of the chest, below the collarbone. This point helps expand the lungs, promotes full breathing, and reduces coughing.

ree
  • Lung 5 (Chize): Located at the end of the elbow crease, just outside the tendon. This point helps reduce coughing and wheezing, opens the airways, and clears the throat.

ree
  • Ren 17 (Shanzhong): Located at the center of the chest, between the nipples. This point helps expand the chest, relieve chest congestion, stop coughing, and promote full breathing.

  • In addition to these, we also use many other acupuncture points.

Benefits of Thread Embedding in Respiratory Disease Treatment at VRI

Thread embedding can be used at any stage of respiratory disease treatment and can be combined with conventional methods or medications.

Some additional benefits of thread embedding in effectively treating respiratory diseases include:

  • Improving pulmonary function and optimizing the performance of respiratory-related organs such as the heart, spleen, and kidneys.

  • Boosting immunity, increasing the endurance of respiratory muscles, making breathing easier.

  • Alleviating dyspnoea and reducing disease symptoms: According to experience, those who undergo thread embedding therapy combined with COPD medication can endure more exercise compared to those who only use medication.

  • Enlarging respiratory passages: Thread embedding helps relax the muscles involved in respiration, releasing chemicals that dilate the airways, making breathing easier.

  • Comprehensive Treatment Approach: Thread embedding can be part of a comprehensive treatment plan, offering significant benefits to those who have difficulty managing COPD with medication, significantly improving quality of life.

  • Thread embedding is a natural, non-invasive treatment method with no side effects.
